The Avocado Magic

Avocados are rich in fatty acids and nutrients, so feed your hair with this components. Just have one avocado if you have a short hair and two for the long ones. Mash it until it looks like a thick paste and spread it on your hair from root to tips. Leave for 20 mins, shampoo and rinse.

The Traditional Coconut Craze

Gently comb into your hair from root to tips, three warm tablespoons of coconut oil, wrap your hair in a hot towel and leave for 30 minute, shampoo and rinse. Coconut oil is loaded with antioxidants and works to smooth dry and damaged cuticles and lock in shine.

A PAIR OF SUNGLASSES

Do you keep a pair of sunglasses in your bag and the glove compartment of your car? Those are the two most common place to hid them. Now, why do we talk about sunglasses or the places to store them?

Read on….

Experts say: You should really store them in both spots. Sunglasses can help you avoid squinting, which creates and deepens lines around the eyes over time, says Dr. Anne Ferriols of Blooming Skin and Cosmetic Surgery Center. “Protecting your eyes is just as important as protecting your skin. Without proper eye protection, you can develop eye diseases such as cataracts, so make sure your sun glasses have UVA and UVB protection.”

Face saver: Spring for a nice pair of wrap around or wide –frame sunglasses to help protect your eyes and skin from damaging UVA and UVB rays. Also, opt for makeup formulated with SPF whenever possible. For extra protection, you can apply an anti-wrinkle eye cream that contains anti-oxidants to fight the free radical damage caused by sun exposure.

USING A STRAW WHEN DRINKING SODA?

Do you normally use a straw when you are drinking any brand of softdrinks?

Experts say: If you drink from a straw often, it can give you lines around your mouth, cautions Dr. Yanee Santos of Aesthetic Science. Why? The puckering motion (the same one you make to puff on a cigarette) controls the skin around your lips and speeds up the development of thin white lines.

Face saver: Switch it up, so you don’t always drink out of a straw. Also try not to chew on a straw (or even gum) for so long periods of time when you’re distracted, like during a movie or while surfing the internet. To diminish any noticeable lines apply a clear lip plumper around the perimeter of your mouth and swipe on a collagen-stimulating cream at night.

BAre foot

One of the most interesting part of our body is our foot.  They take our footprints when we we’re born, count our toes and tickle our sole to hear the wonderful baby gurgles. But once we’re grown, we had become sensitive about our feet as aesthetic accessories and took our feet for granted for not taking good care of them. A foot spa even twice a month or once a month can help, and a pedicure every week will make our feet happy. Some men looks for a pair of beautiful feet because according to them  girls with a nice feet is also had a nice hygiene because if they take good care of their feet what more for the whole  body.

MINERAL MAKEUP

Mineral makeup definitely suits every woman’s needs and provides health benefits for the skin. Containing no preservatives and irritating talc, these powders do not block the pores and allow the skin to breathe freely. Not only are they practical and easy to apply, they also offer breathtaking results with a uniform pure-glow finish, without bringing the wrinkles or caking features of the face. The ultra-fine particles fuse with the skin, thus never building up wrinkles.

So pamper your skin with the wonders of mineral make-up and experience its nice effects.

BIG FOREHEAD HICKEY

There’s always some risk to wielding a hot metal flat or curling iron near your face, and sometimes you can actually singe your forehead in a rush to get out the door – ouch. “If you’re in a hurry, it’s so easy for your hand to slip,” explains Rose Velasco, resident hairstylist and colorist of Univers Phyto byKaizen in Rustan’s Makati.

Fast fix:
“skin that has been newly burnt should kept free of ant colorants like makeup.” Warns Dr. Mangubat. Instead, dab on a soothing aloe vera gel, pop an aspirin to reduce inflammation, and pull on a hat to hide the mark. Once it’s healed ( in about three to four days), apply petroleum jelly to minimize scabbing, then conceal the redness with an oil-free faoundation-to-powder makeup.

Next time:
“A good rule of thumb is not to swirl the iron closer that a half-inch from your scalp.”

SMEARED MASCARA

You just finished a fabulous smoky eye job, and while doing the finishing touches on your mascara, you blink, and end up with black splotches.

Fast Fix:
Trying to wipe off mascara on your skin while it’s still wet will just make things worse. Instead of giving up and repeating the entire process, makeup artist Krist Bansuelo says, it’s best to just wait for the mascara to dry into hard debris so you can gently scratch it off.

Next time:
Dab some ultrafine loose powder right under your eyes right before you start placing color on your lids. The loose powder will serve as a barrier and catch any loose pigments and prevent mascara from staining your skin.

A ZIT YOU PICKED A FIGHT WITH

A fresh pimple appears on your face – grrr. Rather than letting it clear up on its own (that would be far too practical), you pick at it, which only leaves it bigger and angrier. “Trying to pop a pimple yourself sometimes causes scarring. When done unsuccessfully, this will only push the bacteria further down, resulting in a more inflamed pimple,” warns dermatologist Dr. Isabel Mangubat of Renergy.

Fast Fix:
“Try a cold compress to help ease the swelling,” suggest Dr. Mangubat. Once it’s shrunk, cover it with concealer. Try Shu Umeura Markcealer, Php 1,500, which has a fine point applicator so that you can apply coverage only where it’s needed. If your zit is still on the red, try mixing a mint-colored corrector with your concealer (try Palladio Concealer in Green, Php 425_ to help camouflage redness.

Next time:
Try to wait at least a day before messing with a zit. If you can’t resist, carefully pop it after washing your face with warm water or showering so your skin is flexible and pores are more open.

STREAKS OF SWEAT

Your clingy skin-tight dress reveals everything – even some, uh, sweat spots under your breast, armpits, and/or back. “Silk and stretch jersey in light colors are very unforgiving when it comes to moisture stains,” says local knitwear designer Lulu Tan Gan. Also, when your outfit is on the tight side, your skin is more likely to come into contact with the fabric such that just a bit of perspiration anywhere is more likely to show.

Fast Fix
Head for the bathroom, and adjust the nozzle of the hand dryer so that it hits the area affected. Or, duck into a stall strip down, and blot the dress (and your skin) with a paper towel to mop up the excess wetness if you have a jacket or shawl, use it to strategically cover the areas that have been stained.

Next time:
Lightly powder sweat-prone areas – this will help keep perspiration at bay, and keep you smelling fresh, too. Try Block and White Deodorant powder, Php 73. Also wear a cotton bra since it helps absorb body moisture, suggests Tan Gan.” It’s a good idea to keep a travel-size deodorant in your purse or office drawer, too, so you can reapply if the temp skyrockets or you start dancing up a storm.
